Obviously, to become a commercial pilot in Columbus, OH students must take advanced training courses that go well beyond the "private pilot license".  But in order to take advanced courses that lead to an aviation career everyone starts with a "private pilot certificate". As a Part 141 Flight School, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved Upper Limit Aviation. We are also partnered with Southern Utah University (SUU) and SUU provides its students with Part 61 flight training that will lead to a standard college degree.

What are my first steps in becoming a licensed pilot flying in Columbus, OH?

One of the first decisions you need to make is which type of aircraft you want to fly. Getting a pilot's license in Columbus, OH does not allow you to fly any type of aircraft you wish. FAA's rules for getting a pilot's license (certificate) differ depending on the type of aircraft you fly. You can choose among airplanes, gyroplanes, helicopters, gliders, balloons, or airships. However, if you are interested in flying ultralight vehicles (or bush - sports plane) you don't need a pilot's license.  There is a lot to learn about getting a pilots license.  Call us and we can help coach you through the process.
